The Bronze Whaler Shark (also known as a ‘Bronzie’ ) prefers warm-temperate waters anywhere from the surf zone to 100m. They grow to about 3m in length and feed on fish and squid. The mothers can have litters anywhere between 7-20 babies after a 12 month gestation period - even longer than human mothers! Like all sharks they are an important part of a healthy marine ecosystem, but unfortunately their number globally are threatened.
